Neighbors working together are making a difference.

From March through June 2026, Wellington Square neighbors, volunteers, and committee members came together to strengthen our community, launch new initiatives, and make progress on issues that matter to our neighborhood.

In just four months, we've accomplished a great deal.

Bringing Neighbors Together

Our Social Committee organized and hosted a neighborhood block party, bringing residents together to celebrate Wellington Square and build community connections. More events are in the works.

Making Our Neighborhood More Beautiful

The Beautification Committee helped restore Wellington Square's historic neighborhood monuments and began developing plans to improve our landscaped medians, freeway wall, and other shared spaces.

Addressing Neighborhood Concerns

A dedicated committee has been working with City departments and Council District staff to address the longstanding trash enclosure issue at 1909 Buckingham Road. Those efforts have already secured interim improvements while work toward a permanent solution continues.

Preserving Our Neighborhood's Character

Our Zoning Committee established a working group with the Department of City Planning to help develop updated Wellington Square Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ) guidelines.

Supporting Neighborhood Safety

A new Safety Committee identified neighborhood concerns, established priorities, and initiated discussions with the LAPD about opportunities to improve safety.

Improving Communication

The Communications Committee refined our neighborhood email list and began developing a new WSIA website to make it easier for residents to stay informed and involved.

Keeping Our Finances Strong

During this four-month period, WSIA received $5,572 in dues and donations and spent $3,302 on neighborhood improvements, events, and communications. Our June ending balance was $18,499.

And We're Just Getting Started!

Every improvement, event, and new initiative reflects the time, energy, and generosity of neighbors who care about Wellington Square.

Whether you volunteer, participate in a committee, attend neighborhood events, or contribute annual dues, you're helping make this work possible.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed. Together, we're building an even stronger Wellington Square.
